FAQs About Our Therapy Services
What to expect in your therapy session
-
How do I get started?
Once your intake appt is scheduled, I will send you an invitation to create an online portal through which you will fill out intake paperwork that is submitted electronically. This paperwork must be completed before our first session.
-
What can I expect in my first session?
The intake session is where I will assess your particular needs and goals for therapy and ask any questions related to your history and the presenting problem. If we both feel we are a good fit for each other, we will then schedule out further appointments
-
What are your fees?
60 minute intake: $230
50 minute session: $190
80 minute session: $300 (upon request)
credit cards accepted including HSA
5% discount offered if paying in cash
-
Do you take insurance?
I do not work with insurance companies and am a private pay practice. If you would like to submit a claim to your insurance companies out of network benefits, I can provide you with a superbill to submit. Keep in mind a diagnosis code will be needed for insurance to consider reimbursement.
-
Do you prescribe medication?
As a licensed therapist I am NOT a medical doctor and cannot prescribe medication. However I often refer patients to trusted psychiatrists and nurse practitioners if medications could be beneficial in addition to therapy.
-
How often do I need to come in and how long does it take to feel better?
I recommend weekly sessions for new patients if possible. Biweekly is also an option but I do not recommend meeting less than this in the initial stages of therapy. Length of treatment is entirely based on the couple or individual and various factors.
